Wendy Passantino

I love learning, teaching, hiking, writing, gardening, and spending time with my children and grandchildren whenever I can. I live in Texas and am happily married to my high school sweetheart. I feel blessed to travel and observe the world around me.

I have always loved children and chose to pursue a degree in elementary education from Brigham Young University.  I taught first and second grade and grew to love children's literature. I am excited to share my first book, Shama Grandma, about the love and loss of a grandmother.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE
book?

My favorite children’s book is a tie between two: Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day by Judith Viorst and Love You Forever by Robert Munsch.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE
quote?

I love quotes because they capture living in such few words.  One of my favorites is by Corrie ten Boom, “I know that the experiences of our lives, when we let God use them, become the mysterious and perfect preparation for the work He will give us to do.”

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST
adventure?

My greatest adventure has been creating a family with my husband. Each chapter of our adventure has brought joy, some sorrow, growth and all the suspense of what adventures are made of.

WHO IS YOUR
hero?

My Grandma Lila is my hero! She taught me to listen to the still small voice, to create, to enjoy nature and to find peace and love in all the stages of my life.

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL
brave?

I feel brave when I do things that are hard for me to do! I always try to remember Christopher Robin’s advice to Winnie the Pooh- “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

IF YOU COULD HAVE A
super
power
WHAT WOULD IT BE?

My super power would be to be in more than one place at a time!

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU
grow up?

Growing up is a curious thing! What I want to be when I grow up is the very best version of me, I can become!

WHERE IS YOUR
happy place?

My happiest place on earth is wherever I can be with my family!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE
fairytale?

My favorite fairy-tale is my life!  I grew up in difficult circumstances and dreamed of creating a better life. I found my prince charming; he took me to a beautiful castle to be married, we had four incredible children who have found four extraordinary spouses, seven and a half beautiful grandchildren shower us with joy and through all the craziness of life we will live happily ever after eternally!
